I'll dominate 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Ex two time world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making huge financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
