The veteran German goalkeeper finds himself as third-choice at Barcelona following the coach Flick. Having fallen out of favour and had an operation, a January exit looks increasingly likely. Villa were once linked as a potential suitor, but that move currently seems unlikely. Instead, interest from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are thought to be expressing curiosity in the keeper.

Following starring at the Under-19 European Championship, Smit has broken into the AZ Alkmaar first team. The teenager is heavily tipped to make a major transfer in January. Newcastle United reportedly are frontrunners, but could face strong competition from Real Madrid for a deal priced at approximately twenty-two million pounds.
